Dr. Abhishek Kumar

Secretary and Program Director

Dr. Abhishek Kumar, MBBS from Manipal University in 2010 and MPH from University of London, with around 15+ years of progressive experience leading national and state-level health programs in India. Specializes in health systems strengthening, healthcare fraud prevention, and evidence-based policy design. While working at KPMG a multi-national company he managed National Public Health projects such as Convergence Scheme of AB-PMJAY, ABHIM- 15th Finance commission project in Gujarat. Highly adept in facilitation, strategy development, project delivery, operations management, and positive stakeholder relationship management. He demonstrated success in developing operational frameworks, conducting large-scale audits, and assessing health program outcomes under public health insurance schemes. Led the implementation and co-managed evaluation of PM-JAY across Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. Supervised policy adaptation processes, hospital empanelment, and capacity building for claims management teams. Devised robust monitoring mechanisms and performance metrics for both public and private providers across the three States. Directed the design and rollout of pediatric palliative care services in collaboration with NGOs while working as a palliative care Physician for Cankids..Kidscan. Assessed patient outcomes and facilitated caregiver engagement workshops. Conducted multidisciplinary education sessions across tertiary care hospitals and patient support groups. Committed to advancing high-impact public health interventions, especially in underserved geographies like Bihar he is getting back to the rural areas with hope of making a positive change.

She brings deep expertise in evidence generation, program design, and policy application, with a career dedicated to strengthening health and nutrition systems in low- and middle-income countries. Her work spans experimental and survey-based research, stakeholder engagement, and the translation of complex evidence into practical, actionable solutions. She has a strong record of publishing in international peer-reviewed journals, presenting at global conferences, and mentoring postgraduate students. Throughout her career, she has collaborated extensively with national and sub-national governments, international NGOs, academic institutions, and global research partners. Her professional journey includes leading research informed health and nutrition initiatives across India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia, and The Philippines. She is skilled in developing research protocols, conducting needs assessments and stakeholder analyses, and implementing rigorous mixed-methods evaluations that generate meaningful insights for policymakers and practitioners. Her analytical experience spans STATA, SPSS, R, and other tools, enabling her to drive data-driven decision-making and inform evidence-based policy recommendations. Ram Krishna Kumar with over fifteen years of experience in public health and health systems strengthening, he has contributed to major health initiatives across Bihar, Jharkhand, and Gujarat. He has worked with Deloitte, Jhpiego, CARE India, and government health missions, leading programs under Ayushman Bharat, CPHC, RMNCHA+N, NTEP, and nutrition. His expertise spans strategic planning, digital health transformation,Community Engagement, quality assurance, procurement reforms, and capacity building. He has developed Training modules, state guidelines, SOPs, digital integration frameworks, and community-based monitoring models. He is committed to strengthening government systems to deliver quality health care service to community. He consistently involved in various innovation models to delivers practical, scalable solutions that improve healthcare access, quality, and outcomes for underserved communities.
